Gallery Reminder

Some of the pieces displayed here are larger than your screen might allow for viewing - watch for your mouse pointer to turn into a hand or crosshair as you look through the gallery. This indicates that a painting can be clicked on and dragged around within the display box to show the rest of the artwork.

This was one of my favorite 2 page spreads I did, for Popular Mechanics, in the April 1995 issue (The cover is in the Landscapes and Contemporary sub gallery of the Sci-Fi gallery). I never got a transparency before it sold. Gouache on masonite.
Alaska to Siberia Spread
When I did this painting for FASA games in 1984, I had no idea that it would start a trend that still goes on today. Unfortunately, I sold this (and the other 2 in the series) before realizing the popularity of the game in the USA. Gouache on masonite.
Battledroids
I did several covers from this successful author, and sold them all, before I realized the value. This was my favorite cover from my LMB books, between 1986-89. Oil on masonite.
Ethan of Athos
Originally painted in 1989, published by TOR Books. It's the story of giant Obelisks that, contain written knowledge that, becomes more advanced as the civilization advances it's technology to read the writing higher in the sky. Gouache on masonite.
Hegira
This cover was given to me by Bryan Canniff, PM's art director, because I had a bit more ability of drawing faces than most of the artists doing covers at the time. Artists who do good 'hardware' art, tend to be weak doing figures...Acrylic on masonite.
Humanoids Among Us
From Baen Books circa 1987. I tried to make this art like clippers ships at sea. Oil on masonite.
Lords Temporal
This is my only cover (to date) of a video game. This one for Nintendo, in 1990. Oil on masonite.
Orb 3-D
This was one of my all-time favorite astronomical works, done for Popular Mechanics. As with so many paintings during the 90's, I sold it before making a transparency (which I couldn't afford) and this is the only image (with type) available. Someday, I may digitally remove the type and put it in the astronomical gallery. Gouache on masonite.
Ring Rider
Late in Jan. 2008, I got a call from the editor at Light Technology, a local publisher of the above mentioned New Age magazine, asking for a UFO image that had to be camera-ready that day. After some scrambling though my computer data-base for images, I recalled a long forgotten painting I'd done in 1990, on spec. for Popular Mechanics. This ended up being used for the first time here. Oil on masonite.
Sedona Journal of Emergence March 2008
Available as a print through PODgallery. This is the latest cover for the New Age magazine, May 2007. Most of the covers are stock art works, this one from a new age book called 'Children of the Anarii', and done in 1999. I recently reconfigured it digitally to fit the magazine format. Gouache on masonite.
Sedona Journal Of Emergence May 2007
I originally did this art at Art Center College of Design, as a student. 7 years later, it was picked up by my European agent, Uwe Luserke, for a magazine cover. This is one of dozens of covers I got all over Europe, since the mid 80's. Gouache on illustration board.
The Coming Ice Age
During the 1980's, after I moved to Arizona, I became friends with Sci-Fi author G. Harry Stine, until his death in 1997. I never did do a cover for one of his books, but I had him pose for this cover for the book by John Dalmas. Oil on masonite.
