Gallery Reminder

Some of the pieces displayed here are larger than your screen might allow for viewing - watch for your mouse pointer to turn into a hand or crosshair as you look through the gallery. This indicates that a painting can be clicked on and dragged around within the display box to show the rest of the artwork.

Available as a print through Podgallery. Ai-Ko, the Robot Geisha, was to be on the program book cover of A-Kon 18. Ai-Ko is ongoing mascot of the anime convention A-Kon, in Dallas Texas. Ai-ko is summoned to defend the Adam's Mark Hotel (and A-Kon 18) from giant killer robots (the con's theme) with the cheering rooftop crowds (including Sailor Moon) watching the battle unfold. This was done on VERY short notice (3 days). Photoshop 6 w/wacom tablet.
Ai-ko and the Killer Robots
I had entered this in, and won an anime fanart contest at Deviant Art. It's based on Kimono designs I've done previously. The Dragon motif was added to create a visual hook for the costume. This art is available as a print through Podgallery. Photoshop 6 w/Wacom tablet.
Blonde Geisha
Originally painted traditionally in 2002, this art was taken down some months ago, reworked, and now, has been improved. Available as a print from Podgallery. Watercolor Gouache/Photoshop 6 w/Wacom tablet.
Bluebird of Happiness
This was a non-commissioned work, started 2 years ago. I'd seen a beautiful cosplay by Jenni Källberg, and, obtained her permission to do a painting with her likeness. Unfortunately, I got sidetracked with commissioned work, and I couldn't get the right look I wanted. In 2010, I finally took out a few hours to complete the art. Her character is based on the video game Metroid, but the art is based more on the cosplay than the game. Photoshop 6 w/Wacom tablet
Metroid Samus Aran
Available as a print through Podgallery. This commissioned art is a fan-created character affiliated with Final Fantasy 7, one of the most popular games out of Japan. Mirai is an operative from the Turks, a group of elite assassins, and, similar to another character, Jill Valentine, from Resident Evil (which I was more familiar with) and have done previously. Time spent, approx. 24 hrs. Photoshop 6 w/Wacom tablet.
Mirai
This art was commissioned for the A-Kon 17 program book cover. The theme of the con was 'Pirates Vs. Ninjas', and, since Battledroid/Battletech gaming is one of the con's features, I chose it as the idea for the theme. Shown here, are the Gerwalk Valkyrie with Pirates, and Zentradi Walker with Ninjas battling as robot jox. Available as a print through Podgallery. Photoshop 6 w/wacom tablet.
Pirates Vs. Ninjas
This non-commissioned painting, based on the game 'Resident Evil', was originally started after another character, Jill Valentine, was done about 2006. This sat unfinished, and modified from time to time, until now. Ada is a secret operative, and featured in Resident Evil 4, which we have played. I had some spare time to finally finish to my satisfaction...Photoshop 6 w/Wacom tablet.
Resident Evil Ada Wong
This is a commissioned painting from the Japanese based game 'Resident Evil', of Chris and Claire Redfield, two of the operatives fighting the evil machinations of Umbrella, the organization creating evil zombies and freaks of nature. In this scene, another city has been contaminated, and, has to be neutralized. Claire and Chris are surrounded by a sea of zombies. Photoshop 6 w/Wacom tablet.
Resident Evil Last Stand
This art was used as Ai-Ko, the mascot for A-Kon 15, held in Dallas, TX. I was invited as an artist guest as well as doing this work for the convention. She is a winged robot geisha that appears in every convention program book. Available as a print from Podgallery. Photoshop with a Wacom tablet.
Robot Geisha Ai-Ko
This piece was inspired by Soul Calibur 2, which I've played, and the costume designs, background and weapon are all original. This art is available as a print through Podgallery (under 'Amiko') Acrylic and Gouache on masonite with Photoshop 6/Wacom tablet effects.
Seung Mena
Painted in black and white for the 'Sovereign Stone' gamebook in 1998, I thought that this would be a nice addition to the gallery. Gouache on masonite.
Shogun's Retreat
A non-commissioned work from the game 'Soul Caliber' Seung Mena is one of the fighting characters in the game. Photoshop 6 w/Wacom tablet
Soul Caliber Seung Mena
Once again, a character influenced by oriental designs and motifs (and Soul Calibur 2), I sought to include an Asian in my art. This art is available as a print through Podgallery. Gouache on masonite.
