About Alan's Studio

Alan Gutierrez first joined the web in early 1999, with the first version of the Studio. Built on SHTML includes and without any modern frills, it was none the less a well recieved first step, quickly gaining a following among those interested in finding out more about Alan's artwork. Though the first wave of visitors were primarily interested in his own interpretation of fanart, soon enough came seeking his other pieces.

In July of 2004, the original version of the Studio was replaced with a PostNuke'd version, an online application built on PHP. Unlike the first incarnation of the site, the new version was built not only to serve as an online gallery, but as a place of contact and community for fans new and old to get in touch with Alan, as well as being easier to maintain. This included forums and user journals, in addition to basic RSS capabilities so that guests could keep up with current events with ease.

The latest edition of the Studio came with the purchase of Alan's personal domain, alangutierrez.com, and went live in January 2006. The older PostNuke site has been upgraded to Joomla. Along with this, new, modernized forums by SMF have been installed. The new Studio is sleeker and designed to be quicker loading for guests. It also follows modern web standards, promoting the future, and ensuring compatability for modern browsers.
