Today, I recieved comments from a heckler who spent the better part of an hour leaving comments. I deleted them faster than it took to type this update. It reminds me why I left places like Deviant Art, where, in the name of "free speech" they become left to the tender mercies of the lowest common denominator. Though I can accept constructive criticism, I won't stand for comments designed to demoralize and humiliate, and it only takes a second to delete comments of this nature. I'm not ashamed to say there's no "free speech" here, I run this site like a dictatorship. It's for those who are like-minded as myself to enjoy. |

Welcome to the new website! On this site, you now can make comments and ratings. There will be some small changes while I get used to the new Joomla format, which is different than what I'm used to. Should take a week or two to get things situated...
Also, I've added the first commissioned piece of the new year, the evil Sailor Lead Crow from Sailor Moon, in the Pinup section of the gallery. It's now also featured in the thumbnail to the left in 'Latest Update' so that's an immediate improvement over the old site.

Recently, I purchased the domain www.alangutierrez.com from Ipower.com.
In the following days, Sharta, my faithful webmaster since Oct. 2000 (and from the Pixie Shrine and Fanclub where I began my Anime fanart days) will be constructing and transfering this site to the new one, using Joomla, which is better than the Postnuke system I've been with for the last couple of years, which will allow upgrades better for one thing. The link is http://joomla.org/ (copy and paste) for those interested.

This text is also posted in the forum, in case anyone wishes to comment there.
Although I've had this site for many months, I've not used the features on this site, being either too busy, or not seeing enough interest out there to post about the art I add periodically on this site.

Four new paintings have been added to the Astronomical Art Gallery.
Two will appear in the upcoming "Gurps Space" by Steve Jackson Games, and have been digitally reworked for the book. Two others are original works from "Star of the Guardians", a series of 80 small paintings I did for Margaret Weis in the mid 90's.

The Ninth "Senshi Families" art of Setsuna (Sailor Pluto) at the Timegate at the edge of the solar system, is added to the new 'Senshi Families' sub gallery of the Sailor Moon Fanart Gallery, on the far right thumbnail of the tab.
This is most likely the last anime fanart entry for 2005, a year of an explosion of commissioned anime fanart plus some inspired non-commissioned work for myself. I really do hope this continues, but I need continued support from fans to keep it going.
At some point before year's end I'd like to do a commentary of this year's events and some observations about the new directions I've been going for 2005. |
